Although the collection may be smaller than the Archaeological Museum of Ferrara, Museo Delta Antico is beautifully curated with clear paths and impressive exhibits. The only suggestion would be to include more informative panels about the Etruscan origins of the territory.
One of the highlights of this extraordinary museum is the ground floor, where you'll find an astonishing collection of artifacts recovered from an Augustan-era ship discovered in the Po Delta in the 1980s. From delicate women's sandals and leather bags to numerous amphorae, lead ingots, votive temples, dice, and tableware, the preserved items are truly remarkable. Upstairs, you'll be captivated by the exhibits showcasing the largest Etruscan city in northern Italy: Spina. While the most important artifacts are housed in the Archaeological Museum of Ferrara, Museo Delta Antico boasts numerous rooms filled with Spina's archaeological treasures. The museum is modern and well-designed, featuring interactive videos, intelligent lighting, informative panels, and a well-structured circular route.
