Deserving one or more visits, I recommend everyone in the area to visit this splendid museum. A rich collection ranging from the Paleolithic to the Roman Empire, but it shines particularly on the Picene civilization. Housed in the magnificent eighteenth-century Ferretti palace (actually from an earlier era) with frescoed ceilings. Spread over three floors, it suffers from a dated setup, especially with malfunctioning, dimly lit dark backlit panels, yet elevated by the great kindness and affability of the staff. Don't miss the opportunity for a visit when passing through Ancona. Most objects are found in necropolises and tombs. Well-maintained museum with very interesting artifacts. However, be sure to check the opening hours and days, which are the only drawback.
