Byrsa is an archaeological site located in the ancient city of Carthage. The site features many ancient ruins, including the ancient citadel that once overlooked the port of Carthage. While some parts are in need of restoration, there is a temporary collection of photos and renderings showcasing the future museum. Despite the Roman destruction of much of the area, Byrsa remains a fascinating place to explore. Accessible only by taxi, be prepared to navigate through persistent vendors and taxi drivers.
