Villa Bassi. Cosa vedere e come visitare

Hey friends, let me tell you about my experience at Villa Bassi in Abano Terme. This small museum houses the precious collection of Roberto Bassi-Rathgeb, a Bergamo art scholar who donated his collection of paintings and antiques to the town. The visit is self-guided and you can explore the interesting exhibitions of contemporary art in the basement. The atmosphere is comfortable and the staff is attentive and competent. Don't miss the current exhibition featuring a unique blend of painting and photography, including a retrospective dedicated to Mimmo Cattarinich, a renowned photographer of famous celebrities. The exhibition also showcases autographed Polaroids and vintage prints, as well as unseen images of Maria Callas as an actress. It's truly a must-see! And make sure to check out the beautiful exhibition catalog too!

With its rich collection of approximately 400 objects, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, and furniture, this 16th-century Venetian villa is a gem. The noble floor is adorned with frescoes, while other rooms still preserve the fine polychrome stuccoes from the 18th century. The museum is conveniently located with nearby parking. Come and discover the hidden treasures of Villa Bassi!
