Parco Ciavocco. Cosa vedere e come visitare

Parco Ciavocco is a wonderful public garden that runs along the walls of Ortona Castle, offering breathtaking views of both the castle and the sea. This park is a must-visit for tourists seeking picturesque landscapes. The Aragonese Castle of Ortona, built in the 15th century, is a true gem that combines history with the charm of natural beauty. It was constructed to protect the city's port, which was the economic center at the time.

One of the park's highlights is its panoramic view of the sea and the castle. At the entrance, you'll find a great bar that is open during the summer season. The best time to visit is at sunset when the park is almost completely exposed. There is also a long staircase that leads directly to a cycling path along the cliff below.

Although the park may not be well-maintained by the municipality or its visitors, its beauty and charm make up for it. The park's location on the edge of the castle, along with its stunning panorama, makes it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or a snack at the excellent Bar Area 57.
