Despite the need for some cleaning and better maintenance around the statue, it remains a significant symbol for Rastafarians and a national emblem of Ethiopia. The bronze sculpture of the Lion of Judah, adorned with golden accents, sits atop a granite pedestal featuring relief portraits of Menelik II, Haile Selassie I, Zewditu, and Ras Makonnen Wolde Mikael. Created by French sculptor Georges Gardet in 1930, this masterpiece commemorates the coronation of Emperor Haile Selassie on November 2, 1930.
