Welcome to the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History in Hartford! This unique museum is filled with so much to see and explore. From permanent exhibits showcasing Connecticut's signs and Inn & Tavern, to a thought-provoking exhibit on mental health, there is something for everyone here. Don't miss the fascinating display on Philip Hamilton, an American musical, and so much more.
One of the highlights of the museum is the collection of tavern signs, which adds a touch of charm and nostalgia. The interiors of the museum, originally a house built for Curtis Veeder, are stunning, and the well-maintained gardens are a delight to explore.
While the museum offers a gift shop, it lacks souvenirs with the museum's name, which was a bit disappointing. However, the friendly staff and reasonable ticket prices ($12 for adults, free on the first Saturday of every month) make up for it. I highly recommend visiting this museum and exploring the beautiful neighborhood, with its picturesque old houses on Elizabeth Street.
For families, the second floor offers a range of fun and educational activities for children. Plan your visit accordingly, as it can take anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour to fully appreciate everything the museum has to offer.
